Hi-Tech were called to our customer’s site, a beautiful riverside property nested in the Cotswolds. They pride themselves on their menu, which is focused on locally sourced produce and seasonal ingredients. The site is the ideal place to graze in the sun. We were called in to give them a nice new place to showcase both their fantastic menu, and their lovely location. Our job was to provide a refresh of the existing trade kitchen, with some partitions and a new prep room. The exciting part, however, was the external area and bespoke kitchen. The head of food indicated they wanted an external menu to bring a fresh new feel to their establishment. Naturally, we were happy to help.
We completed a full design package and created a 3D model of the space – we even rendered the sun travelling across the sky to look at how the lighting changed. One of the great advantages of using our BIM Technology was that we were able to quickly make layout changes right in front of the client and then walk them round the kitchen. It’s a joy to bring the customers vision to life, and even better when it’s right before their eyes.
The customer was blown away with the level of detail we were able to provide at the design stage. They were then able to tweak and change things to their liking along with us to get exactly what they wanted, making the whole experience completely bespoke. After a few design iterations and adjustments, we ended up with an external covered area with a lot of style. Complete with wood fired pizza oven, inset high output fryers, and some pretty nifty fabrication and chilled storage, we were able to complete a really unique space for the client.
Because the area was entirely made-to-measure, a lot of the fabrication was a brand-new challenge for us and our carpenters, and we’ve made a lot of crazy things! Everything had to fit perfectly and look fantastic as it would always be on show. More than that, it all had to be durable and made with specialist materials so it would last outdoors. We had to design the smallest details to ensure it all worked perfectly, down to the placement of screws.
